I am not sure why I am posting another blog, it has been a month or so since I last posted. I just felt like it I guess. I should be working on my 15 page World History essay. It will take me about two years to get two thousand or one thousand views, so this blog doesn’t really matter, I just was worried that my account would be erased. I want to get my check eventually. Maybe I will get a check by graduation. I think I might see Slumdog Millionaire. It obviously got a lot of awards so I want to see what thats all about. I honestly have no clue what the movie is about except there is something about India. I wonder if this is 100 words yet. Oh, the Lakers are looking really good, which worries me as a Celtics fan. The C’s are still looking like a contender, but the Lakers seem untouchable. I guess that Kobe guy is good. Well I think that is enough for now. I’ll check back in in a month

Well this will be my 50th post, so I should be getting a paycheck for 50 bucks, but my payrate was changed so now I have to get 2000 views before I get paid. Anyways, I wanted to talk about yesterday’s amazing Super Bowl game. Super Bowl XLIII was one of the most exciting game’s I have ever seen, without a doubt. I do not know if it was the best super bowl ever, since I haven’t seen them all, but it is definitely up there for me. I was personally pulling for the Cardinals to win, but I was happy with how well they did (final score was Steelers 27 to the Cardinals 23). Larry Fitzgeral was almost a ghost in the first half, but he got two touchdowns in the second half, including a huge 64 yard breakout for the go ahead touchdown with a little over two minutes left in the game. Unfortunately, the Cards left 2 minutes on the clock, and that was enough time for the Steelers to make a great drive and end up scoring a touchdown to give them the lead. The Cardinals got the ball back and had a chance to score, but Kurt Warner had the ball knocked out of his hands and the Refs ruled it a fumble. Personally, I think it was an incomplete pass, which would have made it the Cardinals ball again, but the Refs didn’t. What I thought was strange was the fact that the officials didn’t even review the play. It was a huge play, the deciding factor of the game, and they didn’t even call a booth review. If the play had been overturned and ruled an incomplete pass, it would have been Cardinals ball again, plus with the 15 yard penalty for Farrior taking off his helmet they would have been on the 29 yard line. That would have been enough of a chance for the Cardinals to pull off the win. Whatever. Speaking of controversies, today.com ripped me off with my payrate. I should be getting fifty bucks in the mail after this post, but instead, I will never be paid. They say that there are ways to increase traffic to your domain, but there is no way I am going to get thousands of people to go to my site. THANKS TODAY.COM : )

Change. Hope. A New Chance. This is all we were promised by our newly-inaugurated president, Barack Hussein Obama. Let’s hope he wasn’t just trying to get our votes and he actually fulfills these promises. Anyways, congratulations to Barack for doing all he has done, and for now being the most powerful man in the United States government. With the exception of slightly stumbling on the oath, he delivered a eloquent and powerful speech on Inauguration day. Oh, and by the way, some idiots were claiming that Barack wasn’t the president because he made a mistake on the oath. These people obviously don’t know anything about the consitution or the way our government works. Obama was president at noon on January 20, with or without saying the oath. But, just to be safe, Obama repeated the oath flawlessly in private later that day. I thought the ceremony itself was very well done. It was very extravagant and exciting. I watched it on tv, obviously. I was not one of the two million who swarmed into our nation’s capital for the historic inauguration. The performance by Yo-Yo Man and company was great (although it was a recording, NOT LIVE, due to cold weather). The poem read by Professor Alexander of Yale has been criticized a lot. However, if you google the poem and read the actual lyrics, it is a good poem. Reading it makes it seem a lot better than when she read it. Also, the lady who sang was good (so I have been told). I do not have much taste for that kind of music, but people said it was good so whatever. All in all, the inauguration was great, good luck to Obama, and I am hoping he will fulfill at least half of what he promised. Thanks and sorry for the ten day absence, I am still getting over my anger at Today.com for ripping me off. Keep reading and email this link to people so I can get more hits.

It has been a while since I posted a blog. About two weeks maybe. I sort of lost the motivation to blog when I got an email from the website telling me I will no longer be paid a dollar per post, but rather per thousand views. I am never going to get one thousand views, so I will never get a paycheck. I was only four posts away from my first paycheck when I got that cheery email, so I kind of gave up for a while. However, I decided to just keep blogging and hopefully in the next year or two I will get the two thousand views I need to get a paycheck. Any help would be great (i.e. reading and checking the blog constantly, emailing the link to friends, etc)
Anyways, I am going to write about my favorite team in the NBA, the suddenly slumping Celtics. before Christmas day, the Boston Celtics had a record of 27 wins, and 2 losses. After Christmas day, the Celtics have won two games, and lost seven. What is going on with the NBA champions? I don’t know.
I tried to post this a week or so ago but I lost the motivation to finish the post (did I mention I no longer get paid?). Anyways, since then the Celtics have stepped up their pace and have won three straight. Paul Pierce is doing great and the Celtics look like they are slowly finding their way back to greatness. Thats all. Talk to you in a month or so…

Like the alliteration in the title? That is my catchy intro to a discussion of the NFL playoff system. The NFL playoff system seems to have some definite holes. I am not usually one to complain about the way organized sports are run (i.e. College football), but this year’s playoffs could turn me into a complainer. The Patriots, if they win next week against the Bills, as they are sure to do, will finish the season at 11-5. That is pretty good for an NFL team. Ten wins is all it should take to get into the playoffs; winning eleven games should GUARANTEE playoff birth. Now, the Pats could win 11 and still not make it. The worst part is, if San Diego beats Denver and if the Cardinals lose to Seattle there will be two teams with .500 records. So, the Patriots will have a .687 winning percentage and not make the playoffs, but the Cardinals and the Chargers will have .500 winning percentages and MAKE the playoffs. That is ridiculous. The Patriots need to win at Buffalo and have the Jets beat Miami to lock the AFC East. I am not sure what they need to get the Wild Card, but that is irrelevant. The point is, the better teams should be in the playoffs. Case closed. The Cardinals aren’t good enough to be there and neither are the Chargers. The Patriots should be in the playoffs. Everyone knows it. They are doing this well even without superstar quarterback Tom Brady. Now that, is saying something about the Patriots team. They play to win championships. How can they win if a faulty system keeps them out of the playoffs?

Reportedly, LeBron James, perhaps the most popular player in the NBA, and Ice Cube, a rapper/family movie actor, are teaming up to produce a TV show. The show is supposed to be about LeBron’s life as a high schooler. The story will be similar to the football show “Friday Night Lights”. The idea was pitched to ABC and could come out as early as fall of 2009. I think that the show won’t be hugely popular; LeBron is a big name to basketball fans, but will people really want to watch a 15 year old LeBron doing his Algebra homework? Why would that interest people?
Also, Eddy Curry who plays for the New York Knicks is supposedly getting sued by a men’s clothing company, “Casual Male”. Curry reportedly purchased $41,000 worth of clothes two years ago, and still hasn’t paid the tab. That is ridiculous. He is in the NBA, I think he could afford to pay a clothing bill. And why is anyone spending $41,000 on clothes in one day? How many clothes can one person have? As Forest Gump would say, that’s all I got to say about that.

I read an interesting article that stated that the possibility of there being alien life is pretty good. This may or may not be true, but some of the evidence was pretty compelling. The article stated that there are so many solar systems that are similar to ours, and so many planets out there that we do not even know about, that there is a great chance that there is intelligent alien life. I think it is a bit of a stretch to say that just this fact means that there are probably aliens, but it does leave room for the possibility at least. Also, there are several planets that have evidence of water or of once containing water. While the presence of water does not necessarily mandate the presence of life, it is one of the things all life requires. There were several other reasons that supposedly proved the presence of life out there, but I do not feel like summarizing each and every one. The point is, there could be life out there. We do not know if there is, and we probably will never know. The nearest planet that could even POSSIBLY support life is 50 light years away (that is what I read at least), which is obviously an insurmountable distance for human technology. Based on that, it is kind of irrelevant if there is alien life, because we will never know. That is all I felt like saying today. Oh yeah and the New York Knicks came close to beating the Lakers, which was cool. They lost 114-116 though on a basket in the final minute. Thanks for reading

As many of you may know, George Bush was attacked at an Iraqi press conference earlier. He was not shot at, however, or threatened by a bomb. Our lame-duck president was actually attacked by a pair of shoes. A journalist at the press conference that Bush decided to drop in on stood up in the middle of the crowd, and threw first one shoe, then another. I was impressed with George Bush’s reflexes, which are considerably better than his political abilities. I thought I was watching the Matrix for a second as I saw our great president duck beneath “size ten” (as Bush quipped) shoes. The strange thing about this, besides the fact that a man threw shoes at the President of the United States, was that after the journalist threw the first shoe, no one did anything. The man had time to bend down, pull off his second shoe, aim, and take fire again at Bush. Where was the security? Someone should have realized between the time the first shoe was launched and the second shoe was about to be thrown that something was going on. Everyone seemed to be in shock. Secret Service? MIA. They were nowhere to be seen. Perhaps they are better at taking bullets than size ten Iraqi sneakers. I thought it was interesting. If you want to see the video it is on youtube.
In sporting news, the Cowboys beat the Giants, which gave the reigning Super Bowl champs their second straight loss. The Cowboys managed to avoid the soap opera drama for today and pull out a nice win. The Patriots destroyed the Oakland Raiders today in Oakland, which was of course no surprise to anyone (I hope). The Falcons beat Tampa Bay in OT, which is a great win for this successful young Falcons team. Indianapolis, unfortunately, beat the Lions, although that was kind of a ‘gimme’. The biggest game of the day though was the Texans 13-12 victory over the Titans. The mighty Titans have now lost two games, and are showing their weaknesses. Granted, they already locked in playoff birth, but they are showing everyone they can at least be beaten, and by not-so-stellar teams. Thats all for now. Thanks

I am going to take a break from posting chapters of my story (see previous days’ posts) to briefly discuss a shocking news story I heard. A 16 year old boy showed up at a health club in Stockton with bruises and scars and other horrific wounds. He had chains around his feet and arms. The boy had escaped from his home where he had been tortured by his foster parents for years. What is wrong with some people? Did these people adopt this kid just so they could beat him? The foster parents of this brave kid beat him daily with a baseball bat, burned cigarettes into him, and forced him to consume various drugs, so as to dull his senses and make him manageable. Not only did the foster parents beat him, though, they got the neighbors and a gym coach in on it. A neighbor of the foster parents was charged today with torturing the boy for over a year. How did that work? Did they call their neighbor and invite him over? Hey, its friday, time to torture the kid!” The idea of some one doing that is inconceivable to me. The only good part about this story is that the boy had the will power and the courage to escape, jump over an 8 foot fence that had been built to keep him in, and run to a nearby health club, despite all his injuries. Also, it gives me some satisfaction to know that the parents will be thrown in jail for many, many years. The sad part about that, however, is that these abusive, terrible foster parents will get better food and better treatment in PRISON than their foster son got at HOME. what a wonderful world

I saw a commercial talking about how Hancock was out on DVD and Blu-Ray now. That movie was pretty bad, but the funny thing is is that the ad made several claims that were just idiotic. The first thing they said was a review from who knows what newspaper claiming that Hancock was the most action packed super hero movie of the year….Have they seen The Dark Knight or The Incredible Hulk? The next one, however, was even more absurd and presumptuous. The commercial went on to say “The best superhero movie of the year”. Wow. I am pretty sure that everyone who has seen The Dark Knight would disagree. Even the Hulk was way better than Hancock. I would barely even qualify Hancock as a superhero movie, and they are saying it is the best superhero movie of the year? Better than the Dark Knight? That is ALMOST funny.
Anyways, number 2 ranked Florida beat number 1 Alabama today 30-21. Even though Alabama was ranked higher than Florida, it seemed as if everyone thought, no KNEW, that the Gators would beat the Tide. Tim Tebow, Florida’s sensational quarterback, threw for 217 yards, 3 touchdowns, and no interceptions. He was the offensive leader, firing people up and making the big plays when they needed to be made. Tebow won the Heisman as a sophomore (which is incredible) and has a solid chance of doing it again. He has 28 touchdowns this year and only 2 interceptions, which is an incredible ratio. Florida is looking to move on to the national championship. Alabama tried, but Florida is just too good. I noticed that Florida is good at college football and basketball, but their professional teams always seem to be pretty bad…weird.
And now it is the time of the week for me to complain about the Warriors, again. They lost by 35 points to the Spurs. The final score 123-88 Spurs. Why are the Warriors so bad? I have run out of things to say. I see so much potential on the team, Brendan Wright, Jamal Crawford, C.J. Watson, Kelenna Azubuike, Anthony Randolph, Andris Biedrins, etc. Plus they have solid experience with Stephen Jackson and Corey Maggette. Yet, despite all this, they continue to show the league how badly they want to lose. Did the loss of Baron Davis really cripple them this badly? He isn’t even an all-star, despite the fact that Bay Area fans thought he should have been last year. Hopefully Monta, if and when he returns, will spark up Golden State. Jamal Crawford has been doing incredible since he arrived in Golden State. There is a lot of promise, but no execution. Last year it seemed that the Warriors could win, or lose, to any team on any night. This year, it seems like they can just lose to any and every team. However, I still love watching them. And that’s all I can say tonight
